Mark has been providing Counselling Based Services in the Community since 1995. He holds a Masters Degree in Counselling and memberships with both the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Mark is 44 years old,married for over 18 years,and the father of three children.
Although Mark is qualified to provide help with the variety of problems that cause people to seek out a Clinical Counsellor/Therapist he has had specific training and experience in the areas of:

Eating Disorders
Somatic Experiencing and EMDR
Emotionaly Focused Couples Therapy
Mark is currently practicing in the area of psychotherapy in Nanaimo. In the past Mark has worked for many community agencies and has worked with children and youth psychiatry inpatient care. Mark also has extensive experience working with special needs and with behaviourally challenged children and adolescents.
Mark also has held positions within the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors,firstly as a representative on the registration committee from 2001 to 2003 and then as Vice President of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and Director of Region 4 from 2003 to 2004. Mark has also held a position on the Board of Directors for the Private Practice Chapter of the Canadian Counselling Association. Mark is a founding member and former Board Director of Lazarus Community Society which is a non-profit group providing housing and support to individuals who are in second stage recovery from addictions and well as mental health concerns.
Mark enjoys working with a variety of counselling issues. He reports that counselling and psychotherapy are an invigorating and rewarding occupation.
